| Canon: The two teens meet for the first time in Sank, but they don't get any screentime together. Their real interactions come after Dorothy joins up with White Fang. Her mobile dolls fight with the Gundams led by Quatre, with the Arabian emerging victorious. The two meet again on Libra, with Dorothy challenging Quatre to a duel. While Dorothy wins the match, running Quatre through with her epée, Quatre retaliates by convincing her that she shouldn't ignore her kinder nature. Quatre then leaves with Trowa, leaving Dorothy alone. |
| Fandom: This is the most popular m/f pairing for both Quatre and Dorothy. Many fans see Dorothy falling in love with Quatre after what he did for her on Libra. However, this pairing is not nearly as popular as most of the standard het couples (1xR, 2xH, 5xS, 6x9, 13x11,) possibly because of the widespread acceptance of the 3x4 yaoi pairing. | Pros:
1. The two characters are eerily alike. They both lost their fathers to war, they controlled mobile suits with the Zero System, they are both pacifists who fight for peace....These similarities had to be on purpose on the part of the creators. 2. They are both well-off and upper class. 3. Phallic symbolism galore! Freud would have a field day with their sword fight. ^_^;;; |
| Cons:
1. She ran him through with an epée. Not exactly conducive to a smooth relationship. ^_^;;; 2. Quatre is kind to everyone, so his kindness to Dorothy doesn't necessarily mean anything. 3. Quatre seems more interested in helping Dorothy see the error of her ways than in starting a relationship. |
| My Thoughts: I used to dislike this pairing, but I've warmed up to it considerably. There are a lot of solid reasons for these two to get together. However, I still believe that Trowa/Quatre has far more evidence for it than Quatre/Dorothy ever could. Definitely possible, but not probable. |
